History

Contact Improvisation Copenhagen is a non-profit association since 1999.

Throughout the years we have danced all over Copenhagen, indoor, outdoor, site specific, and organized workshops, festivals, performances, classes, labs, jams and events.
Many amazing international and local teachers, performers and musicians are part of our network and activities.

Beginning with variations on Paxton’s Material for the Spine, this workshop investigate how interior techniques flow outwards to shared weight and group composition, i.e. jamming.
Barbara Dilley’s perceptual practices will provide a bridge outwards towards Nina Martin’s Ensemble Thinking work.

This workshop applies functional anatomy concepts and principles to solo movement research and shared contact dancing. We’ll give special focus to the use of the shoulder girdle and hip joints for more aligned, powerful and expansive movement
